The Civic Centre and Whittlesea Service Hub will close at 2pm on 24 December and will reopen on Monday 5 January. Phone services will remain available from 29 to 31 December and 2 January.
Due to the Christmas and New Year public holidays, some bin collections will be delayed. Between Thursday 25 December and Friday 2 January bins that are normally collected on Thursdays and Fridays will be collected one day later.

The City of Whittlesea is inviting families from across the community to come together to honour the bravery and dedication of our local emergency services at this year’s Emergency Services Expo, featuring the 29th Annual Blessing of the Emergency Services Fleet.
Held on Saturday 4 October 2025 from 10am to 12pm at Plenty Ranges Arts and Convention Centre (PRACC), 35 Ferres Boulevard, South Morang, the Expo is a free community event that celebrates the people who protect us and the equipment they use to keep us safe.
This special multi-faith ceremony will bring together emergency services personnel, faith leaders and the community to bless the vehicles and equipment used to respond to emergencies in the year ahead.

The event is open to everyone, and all are encouraged to come along, show their support and celebrate the courage and commitment of local emergency service workers and volunteers.
