Help set Council’s course for the next four years
Published on 29 July 2025
The City of Whittlesea is inviting residents to provide feedback on two draft documents that will guide the delivery of services, projects and programs in our community over the next four years.
Council endorsed the draft Community Plan 2025-2029 and draft Community Action Plan 2025-2026 to go out for community consultation at its meeting on Tuesday 22 July.
The draft Community Plan is Council’s key strategic document that provides a clear roadmap for fulfilling the vision of creating Whittlesea 2040: A place for all.
At its heart are 12 key themes, each reflecting a different aspect of community life, that embody the hopes, priorities and aspirations of people who call the City of Whittlesea home.
These include the need to feel safe and connected, more opportunities to enjoy our natural environment and participate in community activities, and improved transport.
Furthermore, the draft Community Plan commits to 55 strategic priorities across these key themes to ensure we achieve meaningful and lasting change.
Supplementing the draft Community Plan is the draft Community Action Plan, which sets the strategic direction and priorities for the first 12 months of the plan.
Both draft plans have been informed by extensive community consultation, with more than 1000 people providing their ideas and experiences through surveys, pop-up sessions and focus groups.
Now, residents have the chance for a final say on the plans before they return to Council for adoption later in the year.
Community consultation will run from 24 July to 31 August.
