Energy Smart Homes Grant

The Energy Smart Homes Grant aims to support households in the City of Whittlesea to make energy-efficient upgrades to their homes.

The grant enables energy efficiency upgrades and electrification of homes, including:

  • rooftop solar
  • insulation upgrades
  • induction cooktops
  • hot water/heat pumps
  • reverse cycle air conditioners, and more.

By upgrading and replacing gas-powered systems with electric alternatives, you can improve thermal comfort and reduce bills while supporting the transition to clean, renewable energy.

This grant is facilitated by the Solar Savers program, providing financial assistance of $1,500 each for up to 30 households. Households are selected via a random draw and then directed to Solar Savers for next steps in coordinating their project.

If you’re not eligible for the grant program, as a City of Whittlesea resident you are still able to use the Solar Savers portal to access vetted suppliers to support your home upgrades.

The program is aligned with actions in the City of Whittlesea’s Sustainable Environment Strategy (SES) and Climate Change Plan.
