Youth events

Baseline For Young People is City of Whittlesea's Youth Services Team. Providing programs, events and projects that young people can get involved in. Our work has a prevention, early intervention and capacity building focus, and works with young people aged 10 to 25 years. Providing support and advocacy for the needs of young people, their rights, wellbeing and helping them see their full potential.

Baseline for Young People weekly programs


This program is designed for young people who want to enter the music industry, or grow their existing knowledge. These interactive workshops fosters connection to likeminded young people, and provides opportunities to develop new skills such as event management and DJ workshops.

School Holiday Activities - September 

Go into Bat for the Microbats

Come and join us at Mill Park Library to make and decorate houses for Microbats and learn all about these incredible little creatures from the experts!

This is for young people aged 12-18 years only.

Whittlesea's Next Lip Sync Superstar

Do you have what it takes to be Whittlesea's Next Lip Sync Superstar?

Baseline for Young People are inviting all LGBTQI+ young people and friends aged 12-18 to join us for an inclusive and fun drag night!

Learn about everything drag and get ready to lip synch for your life!! (Prizes to be won)

Pasifika Volleyball Competition

Come along and have some fun these September school holidays playing beach volleyball at The Y Leisure City, Epping.
Celebrate Pasifika culture with other Polynesian young people while also enjoying ‘King of the court’ beach volleyball at The Y Leisure City’s own beach volleyball courts

Young people must be aged 12 - 18 years to attend.
This event is co-designed by Pasifika young people.

First Steps to Employment – Work Readiness Program

First Steps to Employment is a five week workshop for young people age 15 to 20 years old who are interested in participating in job readiness workshops presented by employment support services in the City of Whittlesea. The work preparation program aims to help young people develop their knowledge on employment by;

  • Participating in a free accredited Barista Training and Food Handling Course
  • Creating a resume and cover letter
  • Practising interview skills
  • Connecting with local services and job opportunities


Date: Program commences Wednesday 14th September 2022

Location: Majority of the workshops will be held at Thomastown Library

Time: 4:30pm – 6pm (*times may vary depending on workshop)

Cost: Free

Only 20 places available.

 Whittlesea Youth Environment ACTION Group

This is a newly formed group directed by young people who care about the environment. Members of this group will be able to make a real difference to the community through exploring environmental issues and planning how to act now to improve our environment for the future.

Who: Young people aged 12 – 18 years

Creative Youth

This group welcomes young people who are creative and interested in digital and pencil art. Participants are provided with a safe place to express their creativity and meet like-minded individuals.
