Internal Resolution Procedure

The Internal Resolution Procedure provides the framework for conciliation when one Councillor alleges another has breached the Model Councillor Code of Conduct.

It encourages respectful discussion and provides both parties with support to resolve the dispute in a manner that enables them to maintain effective working relationships.

Designed to minimise cost and disruption to Council and individual Councillors, the procedure will not be suitable for all disputes.

It operates alongside and does not replace the formal dispute resolution procedures outlined in the Local Government Act 2020.
