Nominations to become a candidate in the Thomastown ward by-election are now open.
Being a Councillor provides an exciting opportunity to represent your community and play a vital role in shaping the City of Whittlesea.
If you are an Australian citizen, aged 18 and over, on the electoral roll, completed the mandatory Local Government candidate training and looking for an opportunity to contribute to the future direction and development of your community, you should consider standing for Council.
Nominations close at 12 noon on Tuesday 21 April 2026.

A by-election will be held in May following the resignation of Nic Brooks as the Thomastown ward Councillor in January this year. The by-election will be run and managed by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) and will take place via postal voting.
