Huskisson Recreation Reserve sporting facilities upgrade

The new multipurpose facility is continuing to take shape, with the roof now complete, external cladding underway and windows continuing to be installed. Internal services are also being fitted, and the new public toilet has been installed.

At the tennis courts, work is progressing on the new lighting, with light tower footings complete and light pole installation underway. Works on the court fencing are also continuing.

Upgrades to the car park are advancing, with stormwater drainage works and communication pit replacement now complete. Investigations into an existing blocked pipe are continuing, with kerbing and pavement works to follow once repairs are complete.

Works at Huskisson Reserve continue to progress well across all areas of the project.

The new multipurpose facility is continuing to take shape, with brickwork progressing, the roof being installed and windows currently being manufactured. Internal building works are also underway.

At the tennis courts, work is progressing on the new lighting, while installation of services and irrigation is underway to support the upgraded courts.

Upgrades to the car park are also advancing, with drainage works in progress and concrete works continuing throughout the area.

At the preschool, concrete entry pavements have been completed, while additional concrete works continue across the site.

Work on the multipurpose facility is progressing well, with the main structural framework now complete and work continuing on the walls and roof, while excavation for key footings is nearly finished.

At the tennis courts, the ground preparation has been completed, and the underground irrigation tank is now in place.

In the carpark, drainage installations are almost finished, and the contractor is continuing civil works. 

Significant progress has been made across the project, with key structural and civil works advancing across multiple areas.

At the multipurpose facility, structural steel erection has commenced, alongside electrical conduit extension for oval lighting. Concrete works for the access ramp are now underway, and foundation works have also started. 

At the tennis courts, subbase proof rolling and soft spot rectification works have been completed.

In the carpark area, stormwater pipes and pits are nearing completion. Subbase works will continue following the replacement of some damaged electrical pits within the carpark.

The upgrade to the car park will feature an asphalt extension, drainage, car park lighting, pedestrian walkways and landscaping works.

The City of Whittlesea is funding the $9.5 million project with the support of a $150,000 grant from the Victorian Government's Local Sports Infrastructure Fund for tennis and pickleball court lighting and $70,000 from the Community Sport and Recreation Grant for the West Lalor Tennis Club play space. The West Lalor Tennis Club is also making a $50,000 contribution.

Construction is underway and completion is anticipated in late 2026 or early 2027.
