Torch-lit Twilight Nature Walk

Next date: Thursday, 09 April 2026 | 06:00 PM to 07:30 PM

Join Merri Creek Management Committee (MCMC) education staff for a torch-lit night of discovery.

We’ll be acknowledging the Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung season of Waring (wombat) as we walk along Edgars Creek to discover local birds, plants and other local wildlife.

Exploring froggy habitat, we'll listen to (and maybe see) local frogs including the vulnerable Growling Grass Frog (Litoria raniformis).

We’ll highlight MCMC’s frog research, share information about local frogs, and play frog bingo to help identify different species.

Join in our collection of important frog data using the Melbourne Water Frog Census Citizen Science app.

This event is suitable for everyone (those under 18 years must attend with a parent or guardian).

There will be activities and walking suitable for younger people and others.

Please wear sturdy shoes and long pants, dress for the weather, and don’t attend if you are feeling unwell.

This event is free and is funded by the City of Whittlesea.

Bookings are essential and open on 1 March.

Facilitated by Merri Creek Management Committee.
