- e-waste, batteries, liquids, chemicals and gas bottles, do not belong in any bin
- do not compact waste in your bins, ensure items are loose
- bin must weigh less than 50kg
- before using others’ bins, ask permission
- if you live in a court, hammer head or dead end street, bins should be placed along the straight section of the street
- avoid placing bins behind a parked car or under overhanging branches
- place bins 1m away from any parked cars/trees/branches
- put bins out after 4pm the day before collection day
- place bins at least 50cm apart with wheels facing away from the kerb
- remove bins from the nature strip the same day as it is emptied
- pick up any waste that falls from your bins.
- Rubbish bins are emptied every week
- Recycling bins are emptied every two weeks (fortnightly)
- Glass recycling bins are emptied every four weeks
- Food and garden waste bins (if you have one) are emptied every two weeks, on the alternate week to your recycling bin.
Find out each bin's next collection date
Your bins will be picked up on the usual days, including public holidays, with a few exceptions:
- New Year's Day
- Good Friday
- ANZAC Day
- Christmas Day.
If these holidays are on your usual bin collection day, we'll empty them one day later than usual. This might mean that the rest of the week's bin collection takes place one day later than normal.
