The master plan for Lowalde Recreation Reserve outlines future upgrades to this valued open space in Epping.
The recommendations included in the plan will enhance enjoyment of the park for all ages with a variety of new recreational opportunities proposed, as well as looking to improve the carpark, accessibility and aesthetics of the reserve.
The recommendations within the master plan are subject to future funding.
About the master plan
The Lowalde Recreation Reserve Master Plan describes short, medium and long-term improvements proposed for the reserve. These upgrades will improve the functionality and accessibility of the reserve and create a welcoming and enjoyable space for all.
We developed the plan after listening to ideas and feedback from the community and other groups.

What the plan includes
The master plan includes a range of recommendations, including:
- A walking and running loop around the oval, with upgraded paths
- Upgrades to play areas and paths
- Improved lighting and car park upgrades
- Enhanced shade and seating
- Diverse informal recreation facilities such as a basketball half-court, football and soccer goals, fitness equipment and a sports field for casual recreation
- New and improved facilities such as toilets, BBQs, picnic tables, bins, and drinking fountains.
- Landscaping improvements
- Shared path along the pipeline
