Riverside Reserve redevelopment

Riverside Reserve in South Morang is being transformed into a modern and welcoming space for people of all ages to get active and connect with their community outdoors.

What's happening?

The park and playground at Riverside Reserve is being upgraded to include:

  • Junior embankment slide
  • See-saw
  • Swing set with junior and toddler seats
  • Standalone birds nest swing set
  • Inclusive roundabout/spinning carousel which can accommodate wheelchairs and up to six users at a time
  • Balance beams and tunnels
  • Large play tower with inclined rope play and tunnel slide
  • Monkey bars
  • 25m flying fox
  • Nature play area including vertical and horizontal log steppers, balance log runners and two log teepee
  • a basketball half court
  • connected walking paths
  • a shelter, barbecue and picnic settings
  • new trees and landscaping.

Timelines

The upgrade to Riverside Reserve is expected to start in September 2021 and will take approximately four months to complete.

Our partners

This project will be delivered by the City of Whittlesea, with the support of the Victorian Government’s Parks Revitalisation Grants Program, giving existing local parks new life.
