Active Whittlesea

Communities that are physically active are more likely to be healthier communities.

Active Whittlesea Strategy

Active Whittlesea 2019-2028 will guide the planning and promotion of sport, leisure and recreation programs, services and facilities within the City of Whittlesea over the next 10 years.

Diversity is one of our greatest strengths, yet many groups (eg migrants, women and girls, people with a disability) experience significant barriers to participation — such as cost, transport and awareness.

This strategy aims to address these barriers to get more people active more often.

Active Whittlesea Facebook page

The Active Whittlesea Facebook page is a one-stop-shop for information on physical activity in the City of Whittlesea.

It helps people to get active by featuring information on opportunities, and highlighting stories of success, overcoming challenges and barriers, and meeting goals.

It also promotes positive and inclusive messages of health and wellbeing, champions diversity and shares resources to support inclusivity in physical activity.
