City of Whittlesea Community Survey

City of Whittlesea Community Survey

Tuesday, October 31, 2023

The City of Whittlesea is running its Community Survey. The survey is one of the most important ways for Council to understand the characteristics and views of the population. The information gathered will assist Council to plan for and meet the current and future needs of residents and our community.

What is the survey about?

The survey asks questions about participation in local activities and how people go about their daily life in the City of Whittlesea. We want to know about employment, education, recreation, shopping, transportation and other experiences of people living in the municipality to inform our decision making.

Who can participate?

A random sample of residents is selected from Council’s database. Only those selected can participate in the survey. Respondents are invited by email, text message or postal mail. Each person selected will receive a unique link to access the survey. This ensures each person selected can only complete the survey once. To participate in the survey, the respondent must be at least 15 years old and a current resident of the City of Whittlesea.

How long will it take?

The survey will take approximately 12 minutes to complete. The survey can be completed in multiple sittings by returning to the link provided.

How long will the survey be open?

The survey will be open from Wednesday 8 November to Sunday 17 December 2023

How can I complete the survey in a language other than English?

The survey can be completed in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese simplified (Mandarin), Chinese traditional, Greek, Hindi, Italian, Macedonian, Malayalam, Nepali, Persian, Punjabi, Sinhalese, Tamil, Urdu and Vietnamese. At the beginning of the survey, the respondent selects the language they would like to complete it in.  To use the free interpreter service, call 131 450.

How will the information be used?

The information collected from residents will be used to improve our understanding of the current experiences of people living in the municipality. This will be used to inform decision making and monitor progress against Whittlesea 2040 vision.

How will my privacy be protected?

The feedback will be combined with other survey participants’ answers to produce statistical data for the municipality.  The information provided by you in the survey is protected in accordance with the principles in the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and our Privacy and Data Protection Policy. You may access the information you have provided by contacting Council on 9217 2170 and the information will be disposed of in accordance with the Public Records Act 1973. The City of Whittlesea will not disclose your personal information to any other organisation. No survey information that identifies individual people or households is published.
