The City of Whittlesea Community Festival is just around the corner, and families are in for a treat.

The fun-packed event, which is set to take place on Sunday 17 March, at the Civic Centre's lawns in South Morang, is set to feature performances, activities and entertainment to delight the whole family.

Chair Administrator Lydia Wilson encouraged the community to come along and enjoy the free activities and experiences on offer at the festival.

"The Community Festival is a celebration for all in our community. We’ve planned an exciting day for the whole community, all ages and backgrounds,” Lydia said.

Families can come to the Community Festival and enjoy a diverse range of free activities and entertainment including:

  • Live show by Team Dream: Fun for the whole family with a captivating and energetic show.
  • Free theatre shows: Be entertained with A Circus Sensation by ZAP CIRCUS featuring fire-eating, hula-hooping, acrobatics, comedy and stunts. Don’t miss the interactive show Someone in the dark by award winning Black Hole Theatre.  
  • Animals of Oz: Get up close with some of Australia’s wonderful and unique native animals.
  • Eco Explorers: Connect with nature through the Eco Explorers Bush Playgroup.
  • Pony Pals Playland at the Pet Expo: Experience hands-on kids’ fun with grooming and patting miniature ponies.
  • Meet emergency heroes: Meet our local emergency service heroes and explore emergency vehicles.
  • Bricks for Kids: Unleash creativity and have fun using LEGO® Bricks.
  • Interactive activities: Face painting, art and craft, and encounters with roving entertainers.
  • Storytime: Immerse your children in the joy of storytelling with Yarra Plenty Regional Library.
  • Youth Zone: Youngsters aged 12-25 can head to the Youth Zone, featuring a rock-climbing wall and vibrant performances by local young musicians and artists.
