Kelynack Recreation Reserve Master Plan

Kelynack Recreation Reserve in Mill Park is a 5.7-hectare reserve located in an established urban area of the municipality. In February 2021, Council adopted a master plan for the reserve outlining a number of objectives and actions that will transform Kelynack Recreation Reserve into a key sports and open space reserve for the local community.

Key objectives of the master plan

  • Improve physical access and safety
  • Improve the natural environment and biological connection to Plenty Gorge Parklands
  • Upgrade sporting infrastructure and community facilities.

Stage 1 redevelopment

The first stage of master plan provides for the relocation and upgrade of the playground, as well as a new multi-use area.

The upgrade includes:

- New playground with nature play and flying fox
- Two new shelters with barbecue facilities
- Basketball half-court
- Table tennis table
- Upgrades to paths and improved entrance from Blossom Park Drive

The playground will be open in time for the April 2023 school holidays.

There are, however, delays in the installation of the new park furniture and finalisation of the basketball court. These items will be ready for use in mid-April.
